Gearing up for the Holiday Season
What a great week this past one was! I am currently sitting in a comfy bed that is not my own. Why does that matter to you? Well, today was supposed to be Mary Cunningham’s day to tell you about her short story “Ghost Light,” but I had Mary out in the blazing Georgia sun for the last two days, selling her Cynthia’s Attic Books at the Decatur Book Festival. She is currently somewhere in the house fast asleep. Selling a hundred plus books in two days is exhausting.
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Karen Syed aka Alexis Hart. I am the founder and president of Echelon Press. I’m also an author. For as far back as I can remember I’ve been a story teller. Nothing pleases me more than to entertain others. I think that’s why I knew I was destined to become a writer. I love to write almost as much as I love to talk.
For me, the short story is king. There is nothing more thrilling to me than to be able to sit down and read a full story, with a beginning, a middle, and an end, and it not take hours or days. Don’t get me wrong, I love books, live for them, but I adore short stories. I think that’s one of the reasons we’ve worked so hard to offer a great place for writers to get their short stories published.
I won’t take up a lot of your time going on about all kinds of stuff you don’t really care about, but I want you to know that we are committed to bringing you the very best quality shorts and novellas we can find at the best prices. Hey, we love you guys and gals. We want to make you happy.
